To quote Donald Rumsfeld, “there are things we know we know…. we
know there are some things we do not know... But there are also
unknown unknowns—the ones we don't know we don't know…it is the
latter category that tends to be the difficult ones.”
In neurology, the agnosias are not that dissimilar from
Rumsfeld’s 'unknown unknowns.' In this week’s program, we discuss
the nosology and nomenclature for the agnosias, the localization,
and the importance of recognizing one.
